Italy Probes Logistics Price-Fixing Charges
November 30, 2009Italian competition regulators are investigating 20 foreign and domestic express delivery companies, including DHL Global Forwarding, Agility Logistics and Schenker, following allegations they colluded on prices.
The antitrust authority said it received complaints from shippers that the 20 companies had “exchanged information about the impact of cost increases (including fuel costs, highway tolls and administrative costs) to agree the size and method of price increases to be passed on to clients.”
Rhenus, the German logistics company, and two French transport groups, Geodis and Gefco, are among the companies being investigated.
